I am not going to lie, I struggled today. If you are addicted to food like I am, I would suggest not doing the Reset during a holiday.
There were so many temptations: Halloween candy, pizza at lunch, happy hour drinks, and more drinks later. I caved and had a handful of dried fruit and nuts and a few wasabi peas. I know that’s not the worst thing for you, but it’s not part of the Reset plan either. The other thing is that I am really starting to see how I am addicted to food. The Reset has been amazing because it tells me when to eat and how much to eat. Before this, not only have I been eating unhealthily, but I LOVE food so much that I was eating ridiculous portions as well. On top of that, there are always plenty of snacks and coffee with sugar around.
I know it probably sounds silly to some of you. For me, it’s not easy to say no to food. In fact, it has been extremely HARD, one of the hardest things I have ever done. I have never denied myself food or treats because I have never been overweight. But the truth is that you CAN and SHOULD say no to some food. I had already eaten a great and filling dinner. I wasn’t hungry in the least. So why did I eat that mix? It was more than just the fact that everyone else was eating. Honestly, as I’m looking back and analyzing it now, I think it was just because I associate eating with pleasure and seriously CRAVED that feeling. WTH? I’m still processing it, but to me that is seriously MESSED UP. I hope that by the end of this I can pass up snack foods because I seriously don’t want them, not because I am forcing myself.
Here is my food for today:
Breakfast: Yogurt and fruit
Lunch: Quinoa Salad & ½ cup of hummus with veggies
Snack: Lentil Salad (leftovers)
Dinner: Taco (See yesterday)
